"This is the best neighborhood bar in New Orleans hands down, and Cindy, one of the bartenders, is awesome."A Mid-City regular Google Reviews · Pal's Lounge
A Hundred Years on Rendon
A bar room with
a long memory.
The building has been a bar since the 1920s — back-room poker, a one-legged pirate, and B-girls asking fellas to buy 'em a drink. Before it became Pal's, it was an old-man bar called Yvonne's: wood-paneling, drop-ceiling, and the kind of regulars who came in at noon.
Pal's opened on March 1, 2002 and kept what worked — corner-bar architecture, a long bar, fair prices — and added what was missing: a well-made cocktail, a thoughtful beer list, and the city's best food pop-ups passing through the kitchen most nights of the week.
"Pride of place smack in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood, classic corner-bar architecture, a long bar, a quality drink for a fair price, and regulars who fill its stools with friendly banter."
